Field Data Sheets

The images contained in this template are copyright images; they are for Machining Solutions customers only.

The Field Data Sheets are included for your use in specifying dimensions directly from a valve that you wish to automate. Make copies of these sheets as needed and you can fax them directly to Machining Solutions for us to use in the design process of your mounting kits.

These sheets allow you to capture the the basic dimensions we need for the design process. Due to the numerous valve configurations, you may need to use more than one sheet to properly identify all the necessary conditions existing in your application. If you need assistance, please call us and we can work the sheets together.

We are going to design, program and machine your kits with the information YOU send us, so please measure carefully and use quality measurement instruments. A tape measure is NOT sufficient to our needs. We suggest Brown & Sharpe, Spi, Mitutoyo or comparable digital calipers for accurate field measurement.

IMPORTANT!!!

Any valve dimensions specified are the responsibility of the persons submitting the dimensions and your mounting kits or accessories will be made to your specifications! Use accurate measuring instruments and take the necessary care to insure accuracy. All valves should be measured in the CLOSED position.

Click on a drawing and then select "File", "Print" to print out Data Sheets.

Any obstructions such as handle stops (that cannot be removed), packing glands, flanges that extend above the mounting pad, etc. that would interfere with mounting the bracket must be noted and specified. Stem dimensions are critical and are to be measured within + or - .001" for proper machining and fit of the coupling. Bolt mounting patterns may be rectangular and should be specified using the "A" and "B" dimensions.

Valve stem orientation is critical!  Square stem faces may be 45 or 90 degrees to the direction of flow through the valve. "Double-D" stems may be in-line or at 90 degrees to the flow in the closed position. Keyed stems may have the keyway in-line, 90 or 45 degrees from the flow line in the closed position. Please use care in establishing the proper orientation of the valve stem features with the valve in the closed position.
